Tactical Noir & Declassified Balkan History. From the frontlines to the shadows of 1970s Brooklyn. Written by a combat veteran.

The Balkan Pack

It all starts in the 1970s. Exiles who survived Tito’s labor camps and UDBA death squads arrived in New York as ghosts. While the FBI was tearing down the Italian Commission in the 80s, the city's underworld was quietly being taken over by this new breed of predator: the Yugo-mafia. They were brutal, they feared neither Gotti nor the cops, and they were bound by a street brotherhood forged in the Balkans. They had the power and the muscle to take over the city completely, but then came 1991. War broke out four thousand miles away in their homeland, and brothers who just yesterday robbed and bled together in Brooklyn started slaughtering each other on the streets of Queens over politics. It is the greatest untold tragedy of the American underworld—an empire brought down not by the law, but by its own poisoned blood.

The Brooklyn Files

Welcome to The Brooklyn Files. This ain't a tourist guide. This is the archive of a dying breed. Here, we document the Apocalypse of Wolves trilogy—a gritty, hardboiled saga of the New York underworld told in reverse. Because sometimes, you have to sift through the ashes before you can truly understand the fire.
